Media Production Meeting Five; Music
We have decided to add diegetic sound to our piece and therefore spent this time searching the internet. We searched existing cinematic music from artists such as, 'X-ray dog' and 'Two Steps from Hell' and then set about trying to find copyright free music for our own piece. This proved to be difficult, but we still have the option of 'soundtrack', and making our own music.

Media Production Meeting Four ; Storyboard
Today we worked on our storyboard, recognising specific aspects of our piece and adding detail. We had to change many things, for example our characters means of transportation as we had to be sensitive to the public, and avoid filming them when we can. We managed to complete three pages of our story board.

Analysis of the opening sequence to Casino Royale
To influence our piece, i have watched the opening sequence to the James Bond film " Casino Royale" The reason why i chose this film is because it is simular to the type of genre that our group want to base our piece on.
throughout the opening sequence there is music being played. the music is upbeat which keeps the audience interested in the film. there is also Diagetic sounds such as the gun shot which helps the audience understand some of the story line.
at the start of the sequence there are graphic effects used such as a spiral around the main character James Bond, from the gunshot there is an instant image of blood coming down from the top of the screen. then it comes to a red background with images of suits of playing cards - this gives a hint towards the audience of what the film is based on such as people gambling.
Then the introducing to the characters come into the sequence, the font that they used for the subtitles is coloured white and is in bold capital letters and then they used the same font and colour for the title of the film however they made the font a bit bigger to make it stand out towards the audience.
Throughout the sequence they used a number of graphic images coming across the screen which looks like a branch with a siloute of James Bond sitting there. when the graphic images of the guns come up when the gun is released instead of using a bullet they have used the suits of playing cards i think this is a good and effective effect.
there are a number of shattering effects in the opening sequence especially when the two animated characters are fighting.
the colours in the sequence have are abstract because they stand out towards the audience making it eye-catching also with showing the contrast of different colours such as red and black then this can be a representation of good and bad.
they also use aimed targets which represents the genre of the film. finally at the end of the opening sequence they have a siloute of James Bond walking towards the audience which then when he becomes closer it becomes into real life however when James Bond is at a extreme close up it then turns back into siloute.
James Bond; Quantum Of Solace Opening Sequence Analysis
To gain influence for our piece, i have watched the opening sequence to 'Quantum of Solace'- a film that is of the same genre that we are aiming to base our piece on.
The sequence is set entirely to one piece of music, with the various scenes molding to the beat of the song. the music is part of the Rock genre, is upbeat and the lyrics match with the story line of the film. The song also varies, and is interesting to listen to making the audience want to watch the rest of the film more.
The colours used in the sequence are mainly the primary colours blue and red. These are bold and stand out. they contrast and therefore could represent good and bad, a theme in James bond films.
the images are mainly silhouettes of James Bond and other main characters, and scenery in the background. this scenery is largely the desert, with a 'middle of no-where' feel to them. the black silhouettes stood out against this. to begin with, the camera follows the bullet, which shows the theme of the film. Lastly, the shots of the night sky and the bright sun contrast with each other, again possibly representing good and evil. some of these images, especially the gun being fired, are in slow motion to mark the moment.
The text is white, to stand out against the background, and contrast with the black silhouettes. the first and last letters move, making the word or name more interesting and vivid to read. The letters are also in capitals to show their importance, and also to make them stand out since the font is small.
The titles start with the name of the film, in the center of the screen, but as less important titles are added, they are moved to other various areas of the screen, and sometimes grouped together. The list of actors come second- the 'starring' text smaller than the actual names. After this, we have more titles including producer. The sequence ends with he director, marking these as important since it comes with no other titles.

Media Production Meeting Two
Today we had to analyse our idea, discussing the six basic questions;
Where When, Who, What, why and How? we couldn't answer, 'why?' because it's unimportant and has no effect on the opening sequence.
Where; Busy locations, different locations for each character, but centered around Reigate.
When; Present day, during the day- mainly rush hour.
Who; The bad characters/ terrorists trying to get attention by bombing.
What; Carrying a briefcase with a bomb inside it. an estimated seven people will be carrying it at different times.
How; Camera follows briefcase between characters.
We also looked at the setting f our project
*Urban
*Ordinary people, business people, students.
*Outsiders are the population, insiders are the terrorists.
*Terrorists are united by revenge (bomb).
*The events likely to occur in the setting are shopping, working.

Media Production Meeting One
Today we discussed the dynamics of the group, assessing our strengths and resources.
Strengths;
Lauren= Graphic design, Photoshop, 'bossy in an organisational sense'.
Louise= Organised, Good at editing, music, and drama.
Amy=Organised, works well in a team, good at editing and sound.
Resources;
Nearby parks, photoshop, nearby station, nearby fields, nearby pub, nearby schools and shopping centers.
Initial Ideas;
1. 'Suitcase Idea', includes the camera following the same suitcase as it is passed between characters. It is part of the action/adventure genre,
2. To come.
